The Benja hot springs are six natural pools of sulphurous water (22–28°C) along the Lengarica river, 14 km from Përmet. Above the main pool stands the Kadiut bridge, an Ottoman single-arch masterpiece: one of southern Albania's most iconic photos.
Entry to the springs is free: walk along the canyon past increasingly quiet pools, soak and relax among the rock walls. The tour is completed with a stop in Përmet, the 'city of roses', famous for its cuisine and gliko (syrup-preserved fruit dessert).

Runs all year round: the pools are enjoyable in every season. Only very heavy rain can raise the river level: in that case we reschedule or refund.
Frequently asked questions
Is there an entrance fee for the springs?
No, the springs are free: you only pay for parking (about 200 LEK). There are no changing rooms: you change behind the rocks or in the car.
Is the water really warm?
It is lukewarm to warm: 22–28°C in the pools, over 30°C near the source. Perfect for long relaxing soaks.
How much walking is there?
Very little: the main pool is 5-10 minutes from the car park. The quieter pools in the canyon take 15-20 minutes along the riverbed.
Is it worth it in winter too?
Yes, even more so: with cool air the contrast with the warm water is even more pleasant, and it is much less crowded.
